On the main page I read that the wrapper will be as close to the original glide support as possible, with no configuration and high resolution support. (seems I have a habbit of posting things in the wrong topics, this is better in the suggestions thread, but I thought it would save posting twice.) May I ask whay you are aiming for this? I say this because, compared to zeckenecks wrapper, I am really missing the high res support. Oh and another note the support page says the game needs to be set to a resolution of 640-480 in the compatibility tab, but actually, when using the super-patch v2 the mouse issue in the menu is fixed. I have been trying to get carmageddon 2 running on my laptop ( windows 7 64 bit, ATI Radeon HD4670 ) without any succes. #Carmageddon 2 high resolution fix windows 7 One glide emulator forces the game screen to keep it's original size in a teeny-tiny box in center-screen ( not necessarily a glide issue, perhaps an ATI-related thing ), I'd need a magnifying glass to play properly.Įither I can play without sound using D3D, or with sound but with graphical bugs using Glide emulators. NGlide Showed promise by starting up both with sound and in fullscreen stretch. However, when the menus load, I only see them for a split second, after wich the entire screen goes black. Only the cursor stays visible as long as I move it. I painstakingly started a race to see if it was just a menu bug, but in race mode, I only see the minimap and HUD:ĭoes anyone else have this issue, or have a fix for this? I'd love to be able to play Carma 2 again. I was thinking, could it at all be that the game's rendering back buffers in inverse order? I don't know about Glide, but in D3D there's basically a back buffer on top of which the 3d scene is presented as a 2d image, after which various overlays are rendered, like HUDs and possibly cursors. SO Perhaps the back buffer is presented after the actual game buffer.2005 SCi / Stainless Games Platform: Gizmondo When I start up the game, I get a flash of the menu screen, and then it alll goes black. This is a smaller piece intended for inclusion in The Games That Weren’t book that didn’t make the final cut. Within the book is an in-depth and detailed 18 page story about the unreleased Carmageddon TV( CTV from this point on) by Visual Science. Often it has been stated that CTV was due for release on the Gizmondo hand-held, but this wasn’t the case at all. In fact, it was a conversion of the original PC classic. We had planned to tell the story of the Gizmondo conversion in the book, but had to cut the piece due to space. #Carmageddon 2 high resolution fix fullĪs part of our Bonus material series, here is the full raw article for your enjoyment, where we speak to the Stainless Games team – Patrick Buckland, Ian Moody, Steven Haggerty, Neil (Nobby) Barnden, Kev Martin and Will McCourt. Special thanks to Justin Castle for allowing us to use his screenshots from the demo. Please note that it hasn’t been professionally proof read compared to the published pieces in the book. #Carmageddon 2 high resolution fix windows 7Īpologies for any errors, which we will be happy to fix over time.Īlthough Visual Science’s Carmageddon TV development had been faltering and eventually saw a professional relationship destroyed, elsewhere another was about to be repaired after half a decade towards mid-2005, when opportunity arose to develop for the new upcoming and exciting Gizmondo handheld.#Carmageddon 2 high resolution fix mods.#Carmageddon 2 high resolution fix full.So far, of the few games I've tried, this is the only one with issues from GoG.com.ĭoes anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? You'd think since 10 is just a modified 8.1 core it should work fine. I've even tried installing it on another system under windows 7 (which it does fine) and overwriting the folder on windows 10, but this makes no difference. And I've tried all the compatibility settings. CPU usage reads 8.4 to 8.9% the entire time until i close the program but nothing ever happens. I tried running it, and it just stalls completely without error notices.Ĭarma2_hw.exe loads into the active processes (consuming about 848kb's of memory, once in awhile moving up to 852kb and then back down), but that's all it does, it will sit there until I force close it. I closed the install and the game seems installed. The install seems to install everything then stops and won't end normally, seems to sit at 100%. I've found issues with installing and running carmageddon 2 under windows 10 (build 9926).
